Visits and Visitors

Each Sunday after church we have gotten to go visit with Nikki for a few hours. Instead of being a boring sit down do nothing visit, we have gotten to see first hand the animals that live on the beautiful Shilom House Center Farm. Last week Jaedan learned how to clip the wings on chickens to prevent them from flying. He didn't even know chickens could fly!

We didn't get to go to the beach like we usually do and that was a real bummer. It seems both Meema's oldest friends live near beaches so one would think we could make it to Charleston or Jacksonville with a free place to stay. Haha This year they both took a day to come see us.

More swimming fun.

SUMMER FUN

I can hardly believe it's August and summer vacation for us is almost over. We had a great summer so far. We spent July 4th with Bethe & Sean our friends in Greenwood. Pa Doug took his new grill over and we ate, swam, and had a great time. Their backyard and pool is beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of our weekend. We visited the Shalom House, where Nikki lives, for family day and got to get up close and personal with some of the animals. Then to round out July, Maggie, our Boston Terrier had a litter of puppies (5boys & 1 girl) we lost one boy, so the five left are healthy and beautiful. They were born on the 29th. School starts August 10th so ... we've been lucky to have so much Summer Fun !!!

Jaedan is Seven !!

Can you believe Jaedan is seven years old? It seems like only yesterday I was 39... I mean he was born. lol. We decided to have a suprise party for him this year and it went off without a hitch. I invited everyone and they came to the church social building. Keith picked Jaeden up early and took Jaedan swimming. We called and Keith told Jaedan that Grandma Beth and I had run out of gas so they had to bring us some. when he walked in the building we all yelled HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!! He was so shocked he couldn't move. It was great. He had a wonderful time. All his friends from school and his family showed up. He got lots of presents including a three way slip n slide, a skateboard, lots of clothes, motorcycle toys, ninja turtle toys, a remote control truck, toy cars, and money....$81 in all ! He's going to put it in his Christmas account. All in all it was a great birthday. Jaedan is enjoying his summer vacation. We watch cartoons, play in our little pool, work in our workbooks keeping up with school. Jaedan reads and writes in cursive daily, works on his math doing addition and subtraction of single and double numbers, he does frfractions and works with money. He can give change from an amount we tell him ip to $10. I know grownups at McDonalds that cant do that!

Jaela is doing great too. She is growing up so fast. She is our princess. That's what we call her. She's such a girly girl. She loves everything to be pink and dressy. Her roo is decorated in pink Dora the Explorer. All her clothes are low enough that she can reach them so she can dress herself. She is very growny acting. She thinks because she went to school last year and since she knows her alphabet by both sight and sound she is grown. We've told her she's smarter than other three year olds so she believes it. She writes her name alone too. We work out of workbooks daily and she is truely unbelievable. She knows numbers up to 50 can count to 100 by 10's and 20's, and is starting to read.

JAEDAN IS SEVEN !!!!

Can you believe time has passed so quickly? Jaedan is seven! We sure suprised him this year! Keith came and got him and took him swimming while everyone gathered at the church social building. All his friends from school and his family were there waiting to yell Happy Birthday when he came in. He thought they were coming to help me and Grandma Beth, that we'd run out of gas. He was shocked, We pulled it off without a hitch! There were over thirty people there! He got 2 slip n slides, a skateboard, several cars,a ninja turtle toy, a remote control truck, lots of clothes, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember as well as ended up with $81 for his savings account for Christmas. He was very very happy.

Jaedan just let me know I shouldn't leave Jaela out of the blog. She likes to be the center of attention. So I guess I'll have to tell you what's been going on with the princess. That's what we call her. She loves pink and wears it everyday if possible. She is truely a girly girl. Her room is all pink and decorated with Dora th Explorer and we have all her clothes low enough that she can pick out what she wants to wear herself. She went to 3yr old kindergartenthis past year and learned all the alphabet by sight and sound. She is trying to read some this summer. We are also working on numbers up to 50. Both she and Jaedan amaze me how smart they are. Jaedan reads, does addition and subtraction of tens places, fractions, and can use money and give change. There are grown ups working at McDonalds that can't do that! We get to go visit Nikki on Sundays now from 2-5. She is doing really good. Keith is taking summer school courses and doing great. He just got back last week from Illinois where he tried out for a pro baseball team! We are so proud of him. He will graduate from Erskine in December and hopefully be a coach somewhere if he isn't playing pro ball.

Christmas -Better Late than Never

Yes Santa did come to our house! Meema is quite a bit late catching up the site, but the old man was here! Jaela was even nice to him this year and sat on his lap for a photo, unlike the memorable explatives she called him last year! Both Jaedan and Jaela got all they asked for which still shocks me that they only asked for three or four things each! Santa did Sooooo goood. Jaedan said it was "awesome". Jaela was a little dissapointed since she asked for her own house and it turned out to be a Dora one instead of a REAL one. All in all we had a wonderful time.
